On that special day, a rather elaborate soiree of entertainment brought the community together to observe the very old tradition of the Twelfth Night Cake, or "le gateau des Rois". At this gettogether, a special cake was served with two pieces concealing as many small objects. The man and woman who discovered the items in their piece of cake were crowned king and queen for the occasion. The evening was theirs, and the whole attendance became their faithful subjects.
