Lentana
The Lentana was a fishing boat owner by New Brunswick fisherman. In 1950, it was on its way to Souris from the Magdalene Islands with a load of salt fish. About 10 miles off East Point, the wind rose and the sea whipped into a fury. When rounding the point, a heavy sea struck the boat and the vessel began to fill. The engine gave out, and the boat struck a sand bar. The entire crew was lucky enough to take a dory to shore where they stayed the night at East Point Lighthouse.
