Oyster Bed Bridge
Oyster Bed Bridge is located between Hunter River and Milton. It was named because of the abundance of oyster beds in the area. In the early 1900s it had a doctor with a small supply of drugs, a wharf where about ten boats fished out of the "Little Harbour", a fish plant that employed locals (mostly women), a blacksmith shop, and a store called the E.J. Gallant General Store.
